Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy

Cashlounge Casino (operating at cashlounge.ca and cashlounge.com) is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and any related illegal financial activity through its platform. This Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy outlines the principles, procedures and controls Cashlounge applies to comply with international AML standards and Canadian regulatory expectations. By registering an account and using our services, you acknowledge and accept the terms of this policy.

1. Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this AML Policy is to establish a framework that prevents Cashlounge Casino from being used as a vehicle for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or other criminal activity. The policy applies to all customers, employees, contractors, payment partners and service providers connected with Cashlounge. It is reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect changes in applicable laws and best practices.

2. Regulatory Framework

Cashlounge Casino is licensed under Costa Rica licence number 3-102-891944 and operates in alignment with internationally recognised AML standards, including the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). For Canadian players, we additionally observe the principles set out by the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and guidance issued by FINTRAC, where applicable to our operations.

3. Definition of Money Laundering

Money laundering is the process by which the proceeds of criminal activity are converted into assets that appear to have a legitimate origin. It typically involves three stages:

  • Placement: Introducing illicit funds into the financial system.
  • Layering: Conducting multiple transactions to obscure the source of funds.
  • Integration: Reintroducing the funds as seemingly legitimate assets.

Cashlounge has zero tolerance for any activity that resembles or supports these stages.

4. Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and KYC

Cashlounge applies a risk-based Know Your Customer (KYC) approach to every account. During registration and at certain transactional thresholds, players may be required to provide:

  • Full legal name, date of birth and residential address;
  • A valid government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's licence, or national ID);
  • Proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement);
  • Proof of payment method ownership (card image with sensitive details masked, e-wallet screenshot);
  • Source of funds and/or source of wealth documentation, where required.

Cashlounge reserves the right to request additional documents at any time and to suspend or restrict an account until verification is completed satisfactorily.

5. Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)

Enhanced Due Diligence is applied to higher-risk players, including but not limited to politically exposed persons (PEPs), customers from higher-risk jurisdictions, and players whose transactional behaviour exceeds defined thresholds. EDD measures may include additional documentation, senior management approval, and ongoing enhanced monitoring of activity.

6. Transaction Monitoring

All deposits, wagers, withdrawals and account activities are monitored on an ongoing basis using automated systems and manual review by our compliance team. Indicators of suspicious activity include:

  • Deposits followed by immediate withdrawal requests without meaningful gameplay;
  • Multiple accounts linked to the same person, device or payment method;
  • Use of multiple payment methods from different jurisdictions without reasonable explanation;
  • Unusually large or structured transactions designed to avoid reporting thresholds;
  • Refusal or inability to provide requested KYC documentation.

7. Payment Methods and Source of Funds

Cashlounge accepts deposits and processes withdrawals through trusted, regulated payment providers, including cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB), e-wallets (Skrill, Neteller, Jeton, Mifinity, eZeeWallet), and prepaid vouchers (Paysafecard). Wherever possible, withdrawals are returned to the same payment method used for deposit (closed-loop policy). Third-party deposits or withdrawals are strictly prohibited; all transactions must be conducted using accounts and instruments held in the registered player's name.

8. Reporting of Suspicious Activity

If a transaction or pattern of activity raises a reasonable suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing, Cashlounge's Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) will review the case and, where appropriate, submit a report to the relevant authorities. Cashlounge cooperates fully with law enforcement and financial intelligence units. Under applicable law, we are prohibited from informing the customer that a report has been filed ("tipping-off").

9. Record Keeping

Cashlounge maintains records of customer identification documents, transactional history, and AML-related communications for a minimum of five years after the closure of an account or completion of a transaction, in line with international standards. These records are stored securely and disclosed only to authorised regulatory bodies upon lawful request.

10. Sanctions and Restricted Jurisdictions

Cashlounge screens customers against international sanctions lists, including those issued by the United Nations, OFAC, the European Union and Canadian sanctions lists. Accounts associated with sanctioned individuals, entities, or restricted jurisdictions will be declined, frozen or closed, and any funds may be withheld pending investigation.

11. Staff Training and Internal Controls

All Cashlounge employees involved in customer onboarding, payments and compliance receive regular AML training. This includes recognising suspicious activity, applying KYC procedures, escalating concerns to the MLRO, and understanding their legal obligations. Internal audits and independent reviews are performed to ensure the effectiveness of the AML programme.

12. Player Responsibilities

By using Cashlounge Casino, players agree to:

  • Provide truthful, accurate and up-to-date information at all times;
  • Use only payment instruments held in their own name;
  • Promptly respond to requests for verification or additional documentation;
  • Not use the platform to launder funds, finance terrorism, or engage in any illegal activity;
  • Maintain only one account per person, household, IP address and device.

Failure to comply may result in account suspension, closure, confiscation of funds and reporting to authorities.
